NMC trip and upcoming info

Our trip last week to the National Music Centre was a huge hit!! If you haven't had the chance to check it out I would highly recommend it! The architecture of the building is incredible and all the music information and memorabilia inside is amazing. The students had a great time testing out different instruments, listening to the huge organ, and doing a scavenger hunt through the exhibits. We learned about the unique inuit game of throat singing and even learned to play the wooden spoons! Before we knew it, our time was up and there was still so much to explore. Check out some of our pictures! A special thanks to all our volunteers who made this trip possible!

We've also been busy typing our stories. Extra practice with typing at home would be a huge help as our time with the computer carts is limited. I'm currently trying to find some good applications or programs that students can use at home and school to build their keyboarding skills. I'll keep you posted with what I find that may help. Once our stories are complete we are going to create a cool plasticine cover page to show our researched animal in their environment. We have also been reading some funny riddles about different animal adaptations that help that animal survive in its habitat. This week we will be writing our own riddles about the arctic animals that we researched using clues that will help others guess our animal.

Upcoming Info:
Friday May 4- Movie night at Ken Taylor- Peter Rabbit (doors open at 6:15)
Friday May 4- Volunteer Appreciation in combination with Kindergarten assembly 8:30
Friday May 11- Stampede breakfast
